Myself and the Officer in Charge had the privilege and a pleasure for our Unit to host the Visit of the Sea Cadets Captain, during his visit to the area this week, since October, I have worked alongside my fellow committee members and both uniformed and civilian staff, to continue the efforts to build a successful unit, and give both cadets and staff opportunities to thrive and progress. Having the Sea Cadet Captain and our District Officer visit gives everyone a moral boost and shows off our work.

Incredibly proud of all the Cadets, Adult Volunteers today at our Unit, not only did our Band lead the Parade, but our Unit's Standard and Cadet Standard Bearer represented the District. The Unit was joined by National Sea Cadet Captain, District Officer, and other Units and their Officers and staff across the District, all to mark the 85th anniversary of Operation Dynamo, Dunkirk 85 - The Dunkirk evacuation, codenamed Operation Dynamo and also known as the Miracle of Dunkirk, or just Dunkirk, it was both an honour and privilege for Margate Unit Band and Cadets to play such a part.

As Unit Chairman, each and every week I see the dedication, the team work, and the hard work these Cadets, Adult Volunteers, and my fellow Committee Members do, to succeed, and thrive as a Unit. It is very much a huge team effort.

What a way to finish the 30th Anniversary of Soccer Six Fest, the Original Celebrity Football Tournament and Music Festival, than for the Winning Team, including @justinhawkinsta @thedarkness Rock Band, and raising the @soccersixofficial CUP Trophy, so many teams played in an epic tournament of football. Also, winning team member @benwalker.official also performed live on the stage, with a breathtaking set, definitely one to watch!

I've now been involved with Soccer Six for 14 years, all thanks to Mark giving me that opportunity. So it's fantastic that this annual event offers up-and-coming artists/talent the chance to share the stage and event with industry pros!

Justin is no stranger to the event, as his loyal support and love of the game is fantastic, and he's such a genuine guy, an absolute pleasure.

Gotta say what an absolute privilege and pleasure to work alongside this band throughout the event, they worked hard, and their Lead Singer Leo helped manage the artists performing on stage! But then gave an outstanding live and energetic performance alongside his band mates very talented individuals that although a young band you would think they had been veterans! Definitely a band to watch so huge well done and so great to meet @emergencybreak_

I've been involved with @soccersixofficial for about 14 years. It's all down to Mark giving me that break. Over the years, I've done many events, including some favourite clubs, including West Ham (old one), Charlton, Burnley, Leeds, Reading, and my hometown of Margate. Still, its the 30th Anniversary this year, and the event is back where it all started at Mile End Stadium, Soccer Six helped me so much as it opened doors in the Music Industry, from starting as a Music/Event Photographer, to doing Festivals and Tours, to move on to Tour Manage, Booking Agent, Agent, Consultant and Talent and Music Manager, its been such a fantastic journey, with great memories, and I have met some amazing people.

Soccer Six is a football tournament, with a live music festival atmosphere, whereby players can mix and mingle, along with industry professionals networking, whilst players meet their fans/supporters, have selfies and autographs, in a fun way, it's such a great event.

So good to see Dave again after so many years, but although he is as busy as myself, I finally I managed to get him to try and play a snare drum again, Back in the day he was the best of the best, and although a bit rusty, he did well. Great to see my old cadets doing well, I feel old sometimes when I see teenagers grown up with kids of there own, but was good to catch up.

Last night, as Chairman of the Charity Trustees and Unit Management Team, I had the pleasure of inviting Sir Roger Gale MP for Herne Bay and Sandwich (including West Thanet) to meet with me and our Officer in Charge, PO (SCC) Terry Green.

It was an absolute privilege to host Sir Roger in an official capacity, where we discussed the progress of the unit, future plans, and upcoming events. What made the evening even more special was how Sir Roger referred to the unit as “his unit.” He has known both myself and my late mother for many years, and it was a great honor to introduce him to Terry, a man I deeply respect and whom I recommended for his position. Terry and I work closely together, and our combined vision for the unit, along with Sir Roger’s support, will help us move forward.

We were also joined by our Unit President, Lt. Cdr. (SCC) Kevin Martin RNR (Rtd), and one of our three Vice-Presidents, Michael Bon. During the evening, Sir Roger took the time to chat with both the staff and cadets, and was given a guided tour of the unit.
